Travelling with children

Infants (under the age of 2)

Infants until the end of their second year travel with us without a seat. They sit on the lap of a parent and are secured in place with a special belt.
You also have the option of seating your infant in his or her own child seat on board. If you want a seat for your toddler (0-2 years)‚ you must purchase a ticket at child tariff (2-11 years).

Children (from 2 to 11 inclusive)

Children between the ages of two and 12 fly with us like the adults do. They have their own seat‚ but receive a 20 per cent discount on the ticket price.
You can also bring your own child seat free of charge. Please note that any child seats must be labelled with an ECE R 44/03 or ECE R 44/04 approval label.

Solo travelers children (UM Service)

Children from 5 to 17 years are allowed to travel alone with us. For children from 5 to 11 years is our child care mandatory. Children from 12 to 17 years may travel alone with parental consent‚ but may also take the UM Service to complete. If our child care comes to claim‚ our ground staff will pick up your child at the point of departure and our flight attendants and the ground staff at the final destination will ensure that the small passengers arrive safely.

For flights to and from Kosovo and Northern Macedonia the following rules apply:
Compulsory care: 5 to 14 years (please fill in forms 1 + 2)
Voluntary care: 15 to 17 years (please fill in form 3)

Please book the UM service by calling our service center at +41 44 577 61 02 latest 48 hours prior to departure. Please download the appropriate forms and fill them out. Bring them in 3-fold to the check-in counter. Please note that the data in the ID must match those in the confirmation letter. Please inform yourself about the individual regulations for children traveling alone in the country of departure and destination. In order to have enough time for check-in‚ we kindly ask you to arrive at the counter 2 hours prior to departure.

Our child care service fee is CHF 90 per child per way.

Infants with a companion

Children from 0 to 4 years old are not allowed to travel without their parents or companions.
The companion must be at least 16 years old and needs to provide the wirtten consent of one of the child's parents or legal guardians.

You must complete the form for parental authorization for child (0-4 years) travelling with a companion and the companion needs to bring in 2-fold to the check-in counter.
